Most punctures in the tread area can be safely patched. Damage to the sidewall, or punctures larger than about 1/4 inch, usually can't be repaired safely — we'll recommend a replacement instead.

Is the repair as strong as a new tire?
A properly installed plug-and-patch repair is a long-term fix recommended by tire manufacturers for eligible punctures — not a temporary fix.
